Oral Cancer: Symptoms

Posted .

You probably understand that there are several things you should do to keep your teeth strong. For instance, you might know that brushing and flossing your pearly whites are extremely important. You may also know that you should schedule regular appointments with our team. During these appointments, we’ll inspect your teeth for common symptoms of a number of problems, including oral cancer.

As you may know, oral cancer can become a serious problem if it isn’t addressed. Furthermore, like most types of cancer, oral cancer is successfully treated more often if it’s identified early. In other words, if you visit our team regularly, we’ll be able to help you identify oral cancer before it becomes too serious. Naturally, there are other signs you should watch for, such as an unusual bump, sore or swollen gums, and bleeding from somewhere inside your mouth.

Fortunately, you can do a few things—and avoid doing a few things—if you’d like to keep your teeth healthy. For example, would you be surprised to hear that smoking and drinking alcohol can actually leave you more vulnerable to oral cancer? You can also follow a healthy diet to avoid oral cancer.
